On Saturday the 2nd of June, a conference dealing with immigration at the Mercure hotel in Vannes, in Brittany, was attacked by a mob of Islamists.

Nationalist activists from Adsav (the Breton People's Party) and Young Brittany defended the conference against the thirty Muslims allegedly led by European converts armed with sticks and tear gas.

Later, police would arrive to keep the peace. The incident mirrors a similar incident in Germany when a large group of militant Islamists attempted to attack an election rally and clashed with police as a result.

Adsav and Young Brittany advocate an autonomous Brittany and see themselves as part of the Celtic nationalist revival across Europe which includes Cornwall, Wales, Ireland, the Isle of Man and Scotland in the British Isles.

You can read a report from the conference and watch a video of the incident.

In another incident, this time in England, a group of violent anarchists ended up cowering behind police lines in Newcastle upon Tyne when a 100-strong group of English nationalists from the English Defence League, the North East Infidels and National Front reclaimed the city centre after an anti-Jubilee protest.

You can watch a video of the incident in the North East of England.
