A Cambridge academic has come under pressure to resign with threats of protests by left-wing students over his controversial views which have been described by representatives of those leftist students unjustly calling for his resignation as "racist", "sexist" and "pro-Hitler".

On his website, Martin Sewell, a supervisor at the university's Faculty of Economics, describes black people as having "lower intelligence" than white people and dismisses "racism" as "natural". He also claims feminism is against the genuine interests of women and that Hitler gave eugenics a bad name.

But he has defended his views declaring he is "neither racist nor sexist" saying that the right to freedom of speech should be respected.

He also claimed the motives behind the witch hunt against him "all boils down to political correctness".
