Remember patriotic political prisoners over Christmas

Christmas behind bars for north east patriots - let's not forget them

A recent campaign by patriotic individuals and groups to draw attention to the recent jailing of Emma West, the lady who forcefully expressed her anti-immigration opinions on a London tram recently, by sending her Christmas cards and gifts whilst she was incarcerated resulted in thousands of items swamping the prison where she had been remanded after her recent arrest.

Fortunately, she has now been released and reunited with her young children though she still faces a court case in the new year relating to her behaviour on public transport in London.

Some say she was justified in her verbal assault after various provocations while others believe that, regardless of the provocations and sincerity of her views, such behaviour is unacceptable in a public place.

Hopefully, the media circus that will surround her case will not prevent her getting a fair hearing when she goes to court next year.

In the North East of England, a number of patriots face the festive period away from home after their recent jailing following a show trial orchestrated by the Crown Prosecution Service and Northumbria Police in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Despite Northumbria Police, via the Northumbria Police Authority, funding a far-left anti-nationalist group, the Tyne and Wear Anti-Fascist Association (TWAFA), based in the Unison offices at Newcastle City Council, the judicial authorities in a brazen display of hypocrisy jailed a number of patriots when they called the bluff of a violent far-left political party, the Socialist Workers' Party (SWP), after they had called a meeting demanding that the English Defence League (EDL) be "smashed" in a social club in the centre of Newcastle.

No police action has been taken against the organisers of the SWP meeting which called for political opponents to be "smashed", while the police funding of TWAFA continues despite pressure on police budgets following recent government cuts.

Civil Liberty is asking supporters to send the following patriots Christmas cards and other suitable gifts in order to ensure that they are not forgotten over the festive period.

We are also happy to take donations on their behalf, via the Civil Liberty website, which will be forwarded to their families in due course.
